Description

The Kiruna mortar is designed to take your seasoning from “pretty good” to genuinely great. With cast iron, a textured interior, and a stable silicone base, you get a mortar that works efficiently and gives you full control.

Features

  • Durable cast‑iron mortar for dry spices
  • Textured, curved interior for effective grinding
  • Ergonomic acacia‑wood handle for a better grip
  • Non‑slip silicone base that protects your surface

Before first use
Season the mortar before first use: grind 1/2 teaspoon of rice, empty it, scrub with dish soap and water, and dry completely.
Usage
The mortar is intended for dry spices only. Make sure there are spices in the bowl while working, and avoid grinding metal against metal.
Care
Keep away from moisture and steam. Store in a dry place and avoid direct sunlight. If used for salt, clean thoroughly afterward to prevent rust. After cleaning, you can rub it lightly with cooking oil. Do not use metal utensils.

About the brand

Crushgrind began its journey in 1994 with the goal of offering high‑quality products to consumers at every level. It all started with their iconic grinder mechanism, which you’ve most likely tried under other brands such as Eva Solo, Georg Jensen, or Alessi. This naturally evolved into creating their own grinders and other household items. At Crushgrind, you’ll find high‑quality kitchen products with a unique design that stands out in both shape and color without compromising functionality. Kitchen tools don’t have to be boring to be good, and in 2026 we carry forward their own motto – “Let’s crush boring food!”
